**About the opportunity**:
The position has accountability for the design, development and delivery of quality curriculum across the KLA. The position also has accountability for assessment and reporting, both internal and external, data management, to support learning and teaching, and ensuring educational compliance with both system and NSW Education Standards Authority requirements.

As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Leader of Learning is accountable for leading the implementation of the college learning framework and innovative pedagogical practice and supporting students to achieve improved learning outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time (1FTE) position which includes a 2pt Leader of Learning salary allowance and a 0.2FTE time allowance.

**Requirements of the Role**:

- A strong commitment to the Catholic faith in practice and lifestyle, witness and modelling.
- Minimum of four years professional qualification in education.
- A post graduate qualification or a commitment to undertake further relevant study.
- Demonstrated record of leading learning in schools.
- An understanding of contemporary learning theory and practice, and an ability to ensure that this is evident in the teaching and learning within the College.
- Demonstrated capacity to challenge, inspire and lead teachers in contemporary and innovative learning and teaching practices.
- Commitment to team and building relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and formation.
- Provision of opportunities to build capacity in PDHPE KLA teaching staff to support the Diocesan Strategic Intent.
- Drawing on contemporary research and analysis of data to support evidence-based practice.
- In partnership with the Leader of Learning - Curriculum, developing each teacher’s capacity in mapping student learning to training and accreditation authorities and other curricula and credentials.
- Tracking, reporting and meeting compliance requirements of assigned areas of responsibility and components of registration and accreditation in accordance with school, system and legislative requirements.

- Current PDHPE teaching experience up to stage 6.
- Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.
- Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.
- Committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.
- Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.
- The capacity to challenge, inspire and lead teachers in contemporary and innovative learning and teaching practices.
- High quality classroom management skills.
- Strong computer skills with the ability and willingness to integrate technology into their teaching.
- Strong communication and organisational skills ensuring that personal and team reporting deadlines are met.
- Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.
- Able to create effective assessment techniques and have the flexibility to differentiate learning activities for students.

**Qualifications and accreditations**:

- Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
- Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- Minimum of four years professional qualification in education.
