The Department of Tissue Pathology & Diagnostic Oncology at ICPMR Westmead is a large diagnostic referral service employing 100 medical, scientific, technical and administration staff. The team is supportive and friendly and focused on providing a high quality, efficient service to patients and clinicians.

**What you'll be doing**

The Department Support Officer is responsible for supporting and assisting senior TPDO staff in key pathology operational areas. They must be well organized, possess good time management, communication and documentation skills. They must be able to prioritise tasks and work both autonomously and within a large team in both administrative and laboratory environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of high level administrative tasks, exercising independent judgement, discretion and initiative, prioritising work and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of pathology accreditation requirements in the context of a diagnostic Tissue Pathology setting.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving, conflict resolution and risk management
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
