Community Centres are not just rooms for hire, hobby or education facilities, they are hubs of active community engagement and places of welcome and safety. They play an important role strengthening and building social capital, improving health and well-being, resilience, cohesion, connectedness, empowerment and belonging in local communities.

Working as part of a diverse and dedicated team, the Community Centre Administration Officer will predominantly work from the Maidstone Community Centre and is responsible for providing timely and accurate administrative support, ensuring high quality customer service.

Working with the Centre Facilitator the position will contribute to the Community Centres being vibrant, inclusive, active and welcoming places for all the community.

The Community Centre Administration Officer will contribute to a dedicated team, building a positive work culture and contribute to a friendly and welcoming experience for all community members.

**_ Key Responsibilities_**
- Undertake cashiering, front line customer service duties, administrative and word processing tasks in order to achieve the delivery of effective and quality Customer Service which reflects the Community Centre's professional standards.
- Ensure accurate records of course enrolments, attendance, program functions; hall hiring and general enquiries are kept using appropriate Council software programs in accordance with Community Centre's procedures.
- Ensure the community centre is always accessible, maintained and presented in a professional and friendly manner to the general public and Council staff.
- Ensure all current relevant information is collated, distributed and displayed across the Community Centres as required, including via social media.
- Showcase the Centre and its programs in a friendly and positive manner and where applicable, promote other Community Centres and actively seek availability for prospective clients.
- Assist in the administration of programs and services at the Community Centres as required.
- Open and close the facilities as required; ensuring all community members have vacated the building prior to securing the facility, unless there are after hours bookings.
- Complete financial duties such as invoicing, purchase orders and requisitioning.
- Complete reception and administration duties specific to the centre.
- The incumbent of this position may be directed to carry out such duties as are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.

**_ About You_**
- Certificate III in Office Administration and/or relevant customer service and administration work experience.
- Well-developed administrative skills and experience with front line quality customer service.
- Experience or a developed understanding of assisting in the development of community programs that is responsive to the needs of our diverse community.
- Well-developed time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and schedule work load in order to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to gain cooperation and assistance from customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Publisher).
- An ability to understand and use or learn booking and point of sale software programs such as Authority, TRIM and Bookable.
- Demonstrated experience with social media and producing effective promotional materials relevant to diverse communities.
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
- Physically and mentally fit to undertake duties such as setting up spaces for hire groups
- Current Working with Children Check Card.
- No relevant criminal record found in a police check.
