About the Role
Manage all aspects of the performance of administrative staff (Private Practice Billing & Audit Team) in line with Metro South Health HR policies and guidelines including Performance and Development compliance, and professional and mandatory training.
Maintain current applied knowledge of the National Health Reform Agreement, Health Insurance Act, Medical Schedule of Benefits (MBS) including items numbers, billing rules, payment schedules, as well as the requirements of the Queensland Health Granted Private Practice Framework to co-ordinate and oversee the functions of a tertiary hospital medical billing team.
Co-ordinate and oversee the timely and accurate processing of medical billing for Medicare, health funds/insurers and other debtors in line with relevant legislation, policy and procedure.
Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal medical billing systems, processes and work practices. Identify and report areas for improvement and recommend/implement enhancements to existing practices.
