Exciting contract role within Local Government for a Legal and Governance specialist
**Your new company**
We are working with a Local Council based SOR, who are seeking an experienced Legal & Governance officer to come on board for a 6 month contract, to start ASAP.

As Legal & Governance Officer you will be required to:

- Contribute to the good governance of our City by providing governance and administrative support through the development and maintenance of registers, policies, processes and documentation.
- Support reviews of the City’s policies and procedures and facilitate updates where required and ensure that all processes are fit for purpose, documented and embedded across the organisation.
- Support the City to ensure systems, processes and policies are compliant with legal and contractual obligations and provide assistance as required
- Ensures appropriate systems of City governance are operating effectively, including supporting the organisation to ensure governance matters are effectively managed.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrated understanding of the Governance framework, risk and / or compliance type activities.
- Demonstrated high level of oral and written communications skills, including the ability to consult, research and analyse for problem solving.
- Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.
