**Summary**

**The Role & The Team**
As Project Accounting Specialist you will support the Project & Asset Accounting Senior Specialist and be a critical member of the Financial Accounting & Reporting team. You will directly support managers by assisting in the initial CAPEX/OPEX consideration of projects finances, analyzing transactions and monitoring construction assets for capitalization as the project completes.
In this role you will collaborate with Project Managers, Asset Planners, and Financial Analysts to efficiently oversee Airservices' distinct Change Programs and associated Projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and External Reporting obligations.
You will form an integral part of a dedicated team from a diverse range of backgrounds. The team embraces opportunities for growth, flexible/hybrid work practices and inclusivity in the workplace. Continuous Learning and development opportunities are also on offer.
- In this role you are responsible for: _
- Assisting the Project & Asset Accounting Senior Specialist to provide accurate, relevant and timely reporting as required.
- Provide accounting advice, analysis and lead regular meetings with project managers and other internal stakeholders to review financial results and indicators of impairment.
- Maintain data integrity and accuracy of project costs through annual review of Assets Under Construction, including liaising with Projects Managers and Program Directors to review and document the status of projects in flight
- Provide assistance to Asset Planners and Project Managers to appropriately process cost allocations against assets and assist in the completion of relevant asset forms as required.

**The Person**
We are looking for a proactive team player who will contribute towards maintaining an effective working relationship with Airservices leadership and stakeholders. You will also take on a flexible, solution-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively through periods of change and disruption.

- Demonstrated experience (+5 years) in the business and financial operations of a large commercial organisation, government department or accounting firm, with exposure to accounting issues
- Exposure to large projects and their associated financial requirements
- Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
- Accredited membership with a professional accounting body in Australia (CPA Australia, CA ANZ) is desirable
- Knowledge and experience in working with SAP
- Advanced Excel Spreadsheet skills
- The capability and motivation to embrace technology and new ways of working
