Your new role
You are a highly experienced landfills professional who will lead EPA's landfills regulatory specialist function. You will drive preventative approaches to managing complex landfill issues and reduce potential risks of harm. You are an influential leader who wants to make a meaningful difference to the Victorian community and the environment.
You will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and ensure you achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; and foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to support the delivery organisational outcomes.
What you'll do
- Lead a small team of senior landfill specialists
- Deliver authoritative regulatory and technical advice to EPA senior leadership, investigators, legal practitioners, field officers and duty holders on highly complex matters relating to landfills regulation
- Represent EPA in engaging with the community, Duty Holders and government
- Grow internal capability in landfills regulation through training, mentoring, coaching and advice
- Design regulatory programs to drive improved environmental performance in the landfill sector

Your skills and experience
- You have senior level experience and expertise in environmental risk assessment and risk management of operating landfills
- You are knowledgeable in environmental regulatory frameworks, and current and emerging issues in environmental protection and in the landfill industry
- You have demonstrated experience in effectively communicating environmental risk advice in relation to pollution and waste to stakeholders such as the community, duty holders and government
- You are a strong leader who contributes positively to an inclusive and collaborative team culture and supports and develops staff
- You have a tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in engineering, science, environmental science or environmental management
