Sheq Advisor

**Ventia **have an exciting opportunity for a **SHEQ Advisor** to support the operational division of the Telecommunications team, supporting a portfolio of construction contracts.

Our Telecommunications team is currently engaged in completing operations with clients such as Telstra, Optus, TPG and Defence.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth, with the option of working from either the Canning Vale or Belmont office, as well as the added flexibility to work from home.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Facilitate the implementation of the H&S management plan, policies and project procedures.
- Development and implementation of the digital infield Safe Work Management System, Novus.
- Undertake significant on-site assurance activities across multiple scopes of work
- Conduct incident investigations including PEEPO and ICAM in consultation with operations. Managing incidents in accordance with Ventia/client requirements.
- Participate in auditing processes to monitor effectiveness of risk controls.
- Demonstrate through own actions and behaviour a total commitment to Ventia SHEQ requirements.
- Advocate the Ventia Healthy Bodies & Healthy Minds programs with operational colleagues.
- Actively promote the integration of Ventia H&S Culture.
- Actively participate in workplace and project communication forums and meetings.
- Ensure actions from inspections, audits, incident investigations, staff meetings and workforce meetings are captured and followed through until closed out.
- Participate in site planning meetings and actively promote Ventia risk management strategies and processes.

**Experiences & Qualifications**
- Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
- Cert IV in Training and Assessing
- Detailed knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing Work Health and Safety within a heavy industry, services or construction environment
- Demonstrated exposure to multi-disciplined construction projects as a SHEQ Advisor or similar
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a safety / environment or relevant industry role - telecommunications experience desirable but not essential
