**The role and what we are looking for**
We are looking for a new Team Leader to join the Capricorn Claims team. The primary responsibility of the Team Leader is to assist the Claims Manager in leading the claims team in the day to day functions of the Mutual, ensuring effective claims cost management and service related queries are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner.
Some of your key responsibilities will include
- Allocate and manage resources;
- Managing team members performance and disciplinary issues;
- Develop team members through coaching;
- Modelling Capricorn Culture and Values;
- Manage claim escalations and Member complaints
- Assist team members with difficult members by providing training and guidance;
- Conduct team meetings
- Inspire and motivate team members;
- Report on the performance and productivity of the claims team;
- Conduct recruitment activities, probationary and performance reviews and rostering for all reporting staff;
- Assist claims officers in the management of large quantum or complex claims with a view to finalising the claim as soon as possible;
- Conducting monthly file audit and call monitoring activities including briefing team members on results;
- Monitoring and reporting of Key Result Areas as agreed with the Claims Manager;
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the business;
- Maintain Claims Guidelines and Framework
**What will you bring?**
- Strong technical knowledge of motor, property and liability claims
- Ability to interpret complex Product Disclosure Statements and Policy Wordings
- Five years' experience in claims environment managing property, liability and motor vehicle claims.
- People management experience preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellence in customer service under limited supervision.
- Tertiary qualification in Financial Services (desirable)
