**Selection Criteria**
- **
a) Essential**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum diploma level) and/or extensive skills and experience in working with the community in a paid role.
- Demonstrated experience in needs identification processes, documentation and development of strategies
- Ability to network and collaborate with other services and form partnerships to benefit the local community
- Knowledge and awareness of key issues impacting on disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in the Canterbury Bankstown LGA
- Experience working with community groups and volunteers
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to produce well written, high quality reports/documents
- Strong knowledge of current child protection legislation, WH&S, Volunteering
- Knowledge of government and non
- government funding bodies
- Current NSW drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
- ** b) Desirable**
- Proven experience working with volunteers
- Knowledge of the Canterbury Bankstown LGA.
- Project budget experience

**About the position - part-time or full-time.**
- Salary and conditions based on Level 4 of the SCHCADS 2010 pay rates. Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.

**COMPANY PROFILE**

Greenacre Area Community Centre (GACC) is a not-for-profit community organisation offering a range of services and programs to the local communities of Greenacre, Chullora, Mt Lewis and the wider Canterbury Bankstown Local Government Area.

We received TEI funding to implement programs that support the local community. We have been in operation since the late 90’s. Our work centres around providing community capacity building programs for the whole community, with a particular focus on children, young people, families and socially isolated or disadvantaged communities. GACC has built strong local networks and collaborates with other agencies to increase community access to services. We have a committed, professional and supportive management committee.

**DESIRABLE CRITERIA & REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be living in Sydney AustraliaBe Australian Citizens or have Permanent Resident Status
- To work closely with the community, local service providers and other key stakeholders to identify local needs and strategies and document the findings in a Community Needs Analysis Report.
- To implement and support the centre’s TEI community strengthening activities
- To develop community partnerships to enhance service delivery for the program’s target group
- To recruit, train and support volunteers involved in the centre’s community programs
- To recruit teachers/ facilitators to run the centre’s program’s activities
- To develop appropriate promotional strategies to assist in connecting the community to programs
- To meet contractual obligations to the funding body, including meeting annual client targets and data collection requirements,
- To comply with all centre policies and code of conduct

**Centrelink will be advised of those who do not fit the selection criteria, who do not have easy geographical access to South-Western Sydney, who are uncontactable, who do not come in for interviews and who are not interested in working long-term.**
