**About The Role | Manager, Strategy**

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team operating within Industry, Investment and Commercial groups for the Queensland State Government. The Manager, Strategy will work with a team to articulate and deliver strategic direction with a commercial focus that drives economic development and private sector investment in Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, lead and implement proactive engagement strategies to drive investment attraction
- Appling commercial acumen and a strong understanding of economic development and private sector investment drivers to the work
- Build productive and collaborative working relationships with other government agencies, other levels of government and with the private sector to influence outcomes
- Represent the State in negotiations with private sector proponents on the government’s requirements for proposals and the commercial terms for the delivery of projects
- Manage external advisors assisting the State, on financial, commercial, legal, technical and probity matters.
- Identify, develop and analyse complex policy and strategy options and provide high-level policy advice on investment policy issues
- Provide briefings and advice to project boards, committees and working groups with both State and joint State-private sector
- local government representation, and provide secretariat support, as required
- Prepare timely and well-researched material.

**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

- Commercial acumen and strong understanding of economic development and how this drives private sector investment
- Ability to build engagement strategies that drive investment attraction in Queensland
- Strong cross-agency stakeholder engagement driving productive outcomes
- Experience in managing a variety of external advisors - in commercial, legal, technical and probity arenas
- Strong and productive negotiation skills.
