This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and obtain experience working as a Legal Support Officer in the Prosecutions Branch of the Victoria Police Legal Services Department (LSD). Victoria Police's LSD provides legal services and advice to support policing, courts, and the Victorian community. The LSD is led by an Executive Director (who is also the organisation's General Counsel) and employs over 800 staff spread across four divisions - the Office of the Executive Director; the Specialist Legal and Litigation Division; the Courts & Prosecution Services Division; and the Legal Business Operations Division.

**Your duties will include**:

- Reporting to the Supervising Lawyer, Senior Police Lawyers and Police Lawyers;
- Provide administrative support to the Family Violence Team:

- Sort incoming and outgoing mail;
- Data entry into the Brief Management System;
- Preparation of court lists (criminal and civil);
- General filing;
- Undertaking other duties as required by line managers

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- An ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously;
- The ability to undertake duties as directed;
- A high level of resilience;
- Excellent organisational skills; and
- An ability to manage a high constant workload.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, fixed term (till 30 June 2028) position available.
- This position is located at 456 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

- As a member of the Legal Services Department you will be located, on selection, at a specific office within a Division for a particular advertised opportunity. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department. This supports the Departments commitment to a flexible and deployable legal workforce and professional development opportunities in a range of legal domains.
