An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Category Specialist to join the NSW Telco Authority, a rapidly growing part of Digital.NSW within the Department of Customer Service.
In this key role, you will be responsible for managing procurement and contracts, specifically in the IT systems and backhaul category. Your objective will be to facilitate end-to-end procurement, ensuring that stakeholder needs, and expectations are met while delivering value for money.
As our Procurement Category Specialist, you will be a highly motivated and driven individual who relishes taking on challenges. Your role will involve juggling multiple priorities and working closely with various stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of their needs. The role sits within the **ICT Team** in the **Commercial Unit** of **NSW Telco Authority.**

**In this role you will**:
- Draft briefing notes and supporting documents to facilitate end to end procurement, risk analysis & seek approvals including Contract Management.
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers with a focus on building new supplier relationships.
- Lead sourcing activities and tenders
- Help our organisation to transform new contracts and manage any changing commercial arrangements.
**To be successful in this role**, you should possess a proven track record of procurement and contract management experience.
You should be comfortable working with IT systems and have a deep understanding of IT and backhaul category procurement. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to your success, as you will be required to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
**You should also demonstrate**:
- Ability to work without supervision and collaboratively, seek targeted feedback and manage changing priorities.
- Experience or qualifications in procurement or contract management in relevant or similar industries such as IT or telecommunication
- Proficiency in use of MS Professional Suite
- Experience in interpreting policies and industry notes to effectively manage clarifications and lead negotiation processes.
- Organised and structured document/record management.
- Comprehensive understanding of the changing priorities and to be able to work on different initiatives and projects at the same time to deliver the expected results.
- Understanding of project deadlines, budgets with the ability to use market insights for strategy development
- Demonstrated ability to derive insights from data/contracts and present this data in different forms such as in reports, procurement documents or presentations with a high level of accuracy
