**About the Role**

The **HR Consultant** plays a key role in delivering high-quality human resource consultancy and advisory services within the **Department for Correctional Services (DCS)**. This role provides vital HR support to managers, supervisors, and employees while ensuring compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legislation.

In addition to general HR functions, this position is responsible for coordinating **State-wide Recruitment** activities for **Trainee Correctional Officers (TCOs)** and **Correctional Industry Officers (CIOs)**. This is an exciting opportunity for a HR professional looking to contribute to workforce planning, policy development, and recruitment strategies in a dynamic environment.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Provide HR advice and support** across workforce management functions.
- **Ensure compliance** with HR policies, legislation, and procedures.
- **Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and systems.**:

- **Analyse HR trends** and provide reports with recommendations for senior management.
- **Build strong networks** with key stakeholders across business units.
- **Deliver high-quality HR support** and customer service across the Department
- **Participate in recruitment and selection processes** for corporate roles.
- **Undertake HR research, projects, and ad-hoc tasks** as required.

**State-wide Recruitment Responsibilities**

As part of managing **State-wide Recruitment** for **Trainee Correctional Officers (TCOs)** and **Correctional Industry Officers (CIOs)**, you will:

- **Manage employment contracts** and recruitment databases.
- **Organise and attend employment expos** and information sessions.
- **Provide data-driven reporting** on recruitment outcomes and trends.
- **Travel intra-state to regional locations** such as Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, and Cadell.
- **Contribute to the continuous improvement** of recruitment and selection practices.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- **Proven experience in recruitment and HR advisory roles** within the public sector or a similar complex environment.
- **Strong knowledge of HR policies, legislation, and enterprise agreements.**:

- **Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,** allowing you to provide effective HR advice and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- **Well-developed analytical and research skills,** with the ability to prepare reports and briefings.
- **Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities,** enabling you to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- **High attention to detail and accuracy** in HR documentation and reporting.
- **Proficiency in Microsoft Office** and experience using **HR Information Systems**.

**Qualifications**
- **Essential**: None required.
- **Desirable**: Tertiary qualifications in **Human Resource Management** or a related discipline.
