**THE ROLE**

The Cultural Engagement Program is responsible for improving outcomes for children, youth and families from culturally diverse backgrounds who are in contact with child protection and other departmental programs. As a member of the cultural engagement team, you will deliver a range of services to child protection including information and advice, comprehensive case consultations, independent assessments as well as working directly alongside practitioners to support families and communities. The Cultural Engagement Program is a statewide service working alongside the Refugee Minor Program within the Statewide Children and Families branch. Department of Families, Fairness and Housing

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Carry a caseload of approximately 20 children, young people and/or families. This will vary dependent upon the required intensity of service.
- Work directly with children, young people and families from culturally diverse backgrounds using child-centred and family-focused practice in a manner that is sensitive to issues pertaining to the child's culture, faith, ethnicity and language to enable timely and proactive interventions and solutions.
- Provide quality and timely comprehensive case consultations, advice and direct support within established frameworks and operational practice standards - gathers information from various sources and draws insights from assessments and intersectional analysis to formulate interventions related to vulnerable young people, families, and communities from culturally diverse backgrounds.
