**About the company**

**About the role**
This role reports to the Divisional Manager Engineering Services and is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations of the Council's roads and infrastructure network

**Duties**
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for the improvement of the road network, ensuring that the infrastructure is safe, reliable and sustainable
- Prioritise infrastructure needs, and ensure effective delivery of projects.
- Ensure that all road and infrastructure works are completed to a high standard, within budget and on schedule.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the effectiveness of quality procedures
- Maintain and develop standards and procedures

**Skills & experience**
- Relevant degree qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- Some experience working with local government
- Project management skills with extensive experience in complex infrastructure projects.
- Class C (standard) Driver's Licence
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage business processes, budgets and financial resources effectively.
- Highly developed communication skills (oral and written)
