**Viewbank College**
- With a student enrolment in excess of 1430, and located on 5.4 hectares in the City of Banyule, Viewbank College provides outstanding educational opportunities to families in Rosanna, Heidelberg, Viewbank and surrounding suburbs. The College is academically focused, and has a high level of participation in other curriculum areas such as Music and the Visual & Performing Arts.

The College has developed a strong and tangible ethos based around hard work, respect for learning, the rights of others and the pursuit of success. Through the very successful student leadership program, the house program and a series of large general assemblies, the College promotes involvement, student participation and service to others. The College's sporting teams are regularly successful right through to the state level. The College production, the debating program, public speaking and the previously mentioned Music Program and the Social Action group are ways students can become involved and inspired.

The College maintains buildings and facilities to a high standard with well - equipped classrooms and staff rooms, complete with data projector facilities. A 1:1 laptop program was introduced in 2015 and has been expanded to include all year levels. Other valuable facilities include a well-resourced library and our new 420 seat Performing Arts Centre and STEAM Complex which opened in July 2018.

**Selection Criteria**:

- High level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff, as well as mediate issues as they arise.
- Commitment to reflect on, evaluate and improve professional knowledge and practice as it relates to Internationalisation in education
- High level organisational skills and demonstrated capacity to ensure Viewbank College continues to comply with the relevant legislation.
- Capacity to create and maintain an environment that supports school connectedness, and a focus on high quality learning outcomes in international students.

**Role**:

- There will be a need to attend to student needs when arriving and departing Australia outside of normal business hours.
- Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
- Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
- An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Viewbank College**
- The Program Leader must ensure that the program meets the needs of the students including their academic outcomes, social well-being and safety, by maintaining regular contact with students.
- The International Student Program Leader must demonstrate a highly developed awareness of cross-cultural issues and assist college staff to understand the differences in learning styles, expectations about schooling and class participation of international students.
- The International Student Program Leader must also possess high level communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with students, staff, and home stay hosts, education agents, reporting to parents and representing both the college and the Department Of Education and Training in the local community and overseas.
- The International Student Program Leader will work with an assistant to manage home stays, interpreting and translations, and liaise with external providers. The Program Leader will be responsible to the Principal to oversee the school¿s International Students Program
