**The Role**
As the Assistant Director in the newly established Governance and Coordination Directorate within Joint Health Command (JHC), you will collaborate with Directors and line areas to plan and coordinate strategic governance activities. You will also liaise with other Commands and Divisions across Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) through a Communities of Practice forum.
This role includes the ability to:
- Plan, lead and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of business governance related activities.
- Manage a variety of performance reporting requirements, including enterprise risk, and strategic business reporting.
- Develop and implement ongoing JHC governance frameworks.
- Generate and maintain systems that measure quality performance and compliance against established standards.
- Engage with stakeholders across JCG to leverage appropriate governance frameworks.
- Take the initiative to identify very complex governance issues and recommend courses of action.
- Review and revise very complex briefing material, correspondence and reports on relevant policy, governance, or legislative matters and initiatives.

Joint Health Command (JHC) provides a joint health effect to enable ADF capability and care for our people. Through the delivery of best practice health services, JHC enables a healthy, ready, and supported Force from enlistment through to transition. As part of Joint Capabilities Group, we make a direct contribution to the ADF’s operational capability and provide crucial support to the warfighter.
The Health Business and Plans (HBP) branch of JHC is a high tempo environment responsible for direct support to the Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force (SGADF)/Commander Joint Health Command (CJHLTH) through the coordination of business practices, health strategy, health information and contracts.
- Will have highly developed analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to review and provide high quality advice to ensure JHC business reporting is at a consistently high standard.
- Be a dynamic thinker who can monitor, and track the progress of multiple assigned tasks, projects and lines of effort in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret business reporting and information to identify risks associated with business performance.
- Be able to prioritise tasks and shift priorities quickly.

- Have strong stakeholder communication skills and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
