Increase the client’s choice and independence, through capacity building, skill acquisition and supported decision making.
- Assist clients to explore and participate in community-based activities of their choice.
- Establish meaningful relationships with clients, their families, supporter workers and advocates to work towards positive outcomes for clients.
- To plan and regularly review with participant identified goals and plans which contribute to a life of meaning for that individual and which extends their community integration.
- Comply with the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Commission Code of Conduct and other relevant prograM/Funding requirements including NDIS mandated training.
- To support the development and implementation of plans supporting a person-centred approach and contribute to the review of the participant’s progress.
- To develop appropriate, supportive working relationships with participant and their families/carers.
- To provide support which reflects the NDIS Standards, legislative requirements,

funding objectives, plans and goals and to report any potential breaches to MIS management.
- To actively promote MIS Vision, Mission and Values in everyday work and in the

community.
- To follow, contribute and work in a culture committed to continuous improvement.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supporting client with all aspects of daily living including providing personal care which may include bathing, toileting, dressing and food preparation.
- Providing activities - eg. Craft, cooking, outings to parks, exercise, bowling, shopping, movies etc.
- Involving client with washing, cleaning, gardening and cooking
- Providing behaviour support following behaviour support plans
- Communicating with clients' families and day program on a regular basis.

**Knowledge, skills, experience and values required**
- A passion for supporting people with a disability to have the best life they possibly can, experiencing their full human rights and valued as part of their local community.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with honesty and integrity.
- Satisfactory literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software, including a smart phone, and a computer.
- General computer skills (e.g. use of Microsoft suite) or the ability and willingness to acquire those skills.
- A reasonable degree of physical fitness.
- Possession of a current driver’s licence.
- Valid NDISWC number
- Equivalent to VET Certificate III in relevant studies or at least 2 years highly relevant work experience
- Compliance with NDIS requirements for Disability Support Workers

**Travel requirements**

The position may require the Disability Support Worker to travel to various work locations to support clients and discharge the responsibilities of the position. The position may require the use of the Disability Support Worker’s personal vehicle to transport clients.

Pay: $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
