**The Organisation**:
The Victorian Ombudsman (VO) provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to the public. Our purpose is to ensure fairness for the public in their dealings with the Victorian public sector, to improve public administration, and engage within both public organisations, the government sector and the broader community.

The VO's role is to ensure that the services of state and local government, and other public organisations are delivered in a fair and reasonable manner that is compatible with the _Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 _and that human rights have been properly taken into consideration in decision making.

The VO is governed by the _Ombudsman Act 1973_. The VO is independent of Government and answerable to the Victorian Parliament, in part through the Integrity and Oversight Committee of the Parliament.

**The role**:
Working in close collaboration with the Deputy Ombudsman, who sets the broad strategy for the Prevention division, the Manager, Intelligence and Reviews plays an important role within VO leading intelligence-based prevention initiatives including Complaint System Reviews.

This dynamic and demanding role requires a collaborative leader with excellent people and project management skills and the highest standards of integrity and professionalism to provide reliable and trusted intelligence, stakeholder engagement and manage a high-performing team.

The Manager, Intelligence and Reviews demonstrates strategic thinking, the ability to build trust and confidence and to work consultatively and collaboratively across all levels of the organisation to promote administrative improvement, both internally and externally.

Core to success in this role is the ability to obtain a strong understanding of the Ombudsman Act.
