
Outpatients Administration/booking Officer

About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient booking service for all patients and provide efficient utilisation of booking time available for Consultants and Clinicians. Position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience and a positive attitude. This position is responsible and accountable for assisting with the management of the waiting lists in accordance with Queensland Health Policy.
About you
- Proficiently complete functions associated with the bookings for procedures/appointments, managing procedure/appointment cancellations, confirmations, rescheduling and removals from the waiting list/clinics using the relevant information systems ensuring alignment with the Implementation Standards and seeking involvement of Clinicians as necessary.
- Advanced skills in the use of information technology to facilitate the identification of errors and ensure a high level of data accuracy. Systems include QHEPS, Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM), The Viewer, Smart Referrals Workflow System (SRWS), Q-Flow and Management Information System (MIS).
- Demonstrate ability to remain calm and show empathy, understanding and patience as the first point of service ensuring that patient care is the priority and focus. Attend to Department phone calls professionally and courteously and ensure 'Clinical' questions are referred to the appropriate clinical area/Clinician or Supervisor in a timely manner ensuring confidentiality is maintained in alliance with the Code of Conduct.
- Demonstrate high work ethics, the ability to work autonomously, exercise judgement and a high level of pride in the quality of work undertaken. Proactively plans, organises and manages own time effectively while remaining flexible and open to change. Provide assistance to other staff within a team structure to ensure priority tasks are completed and department/organisational goals are met.
