ABOUT US

Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy is a private practice based at the Mater Private in South Brisbane. We service inpatients in the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Centre for Neurosciences, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Brisbane Private Hospital, as well as outpatients in our on-site rooms at the Mater Medical Centre and our practices at Annerley and Toowong. Our outpatient clinics incorporate large outpatient treatment areas, fully-equipped gymnasiums and extensive administrative support.

You will join a team of over 80 physiotherapists who practice in the areas of medical, surgical, cardiac, acute neurological, cancer care, gerontology, vestibular, children's continence, men's and women's health, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Physiotherapists within the team also provide services in extended scope areas of practice, including clinics in collaboration with some of Brisbane's top Medical Specialists. Active also provide full-time clinical education for final year physiotherapy students and actively engage in research in collaboration with University, Mater Research and medical partners.

YOUR NEW POSITION

We are looking for a permanent part-time outpatient physiotherapist to work in the area of Neurology, providing outpatient services for public and private patients. You will join a well-established, and highly-skilled, team of Neurological Physiotherapists.

The Neurological caseload at Active is predominantly people with Stroke / TIA, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis & Functional Neurological Disorder.

Future opportunities are available to coordinate neurological work with weekend inpatient work at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, exercise/education classes, men's and women's health, children's continence, or other extended scope roles. If you have special interest and/or experience in these areas, please include this in your application.

Your personality, skills, experience and approach will be pivotal in:

• Growing a busy neurological outpatient caseload
• Delivering services in keeping with Active's 'Connected Care' strategy
• Working with Active's Neurological Stream Leaders to initiate, process and complete neuro-specific projects
• Continuing to build on the existing neuro outpatient framework to develop outpatient guidelines, protocols and procedures
• Leadership, management and clinical education opportunities
• Establishing and maintaining good relationships with Medical and other Allied Health Professionals

THE PERSON

• Physiotherapist with a developed and dedicated interest in Neurological Physiotherapy
• 1-2 years clinical experience required, including within the Neurological setting
• Positive, proactive and energetic
• Enthusiastic and driven to achieve
• High level interpersonal skills
• Highly organised and intuitive; able to confidently and effectively manage an outpatient caseload
• Team-player, with experience working collaboratively in physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams
• High level oral and written communication skills. Experience writing NDIS reports highly valued.
