Imagine not only working in paradise, but also making a difference in eliminating single use plastic in the environment Plastic Free Noosa is focused on working hand in hand with the community and local businesses to reduce reliance on single-use plastic and find suitable alternatives.

**Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2026. 30 hours per week.**

The Plastic Free Noosa program is managed by Tourism Noosa (TN) with grant funding from Noosa Council. Tourism Noosa. is one of the strongest tourism membership organisations in Queensland, with over 580 members who come from a diverse range of sectors with a commitment to the development of regenerative tourism within the region.

With the support from the Tourism Sustainability Manager (TN), this role will focus on the practical implementation of the Plastic Free Noosa Activation Plan.

Duties will include:

- Manage the Plastic Free Noosa program including providing ongoing support to Plastic Free Noosa members and champions in reducing single use plastics
- Expanding the program into other areas such as accommodation providers, retailers, tours, venues and schools
- Delivering community and support existing beach clean-up events
- Assist with the delivery of special projects within Tourism Noosa’s wider environmental sustainability portfolio
- A genuine passion for the environment and desire to make a positive difference in Noosa
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders including business owners, event organisers, community organisations and government
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Previous sales and marketing experience would be an advantage
- An understanding of issues surrounding waste, recycling and plastic pollution (or the ability to acquire this rapidly)
