Hostplus is on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Head of Advice to join our team **The opportunity** The Hostplus Advice team was recognised as Industry Funds Services 2024 Advice Team of the Year We are now seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Advice to join our award-winning team. In this critical role, you will collaborate with the Executive Manager - Advice Strategy to develop and implement our internal financial advice strategy, including digital advice, aimed at maximising the number of members under advice (MUA). As the Head of Advice, you will lead the advice management team, ensuring departmental goals are met and exceeded. You will provide strategic direction, mentorship, and support to your team, fostering a collaborative, member-focused, and high-performance culture. Your ability to analyse complex situations, make informed decisions, and implement effective solutions will be crucial in driving operational excellence and achieving organisational objectives. You will oversee the advice leadership team, managing advice staff located across Australia. **Key Responsibilities**: - Bring our internal advice business plan to life, supporting the execution of our key strategic goals. - Inspire, coach, and manage the advice management team to boost financial advice productivity and engagement, while driving process and efficiency improvements. - Cultivate a culture of providing advice in the "members' best interests," with a focus on advice quality, compliance, operational excellence, and employee engagement. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to: - Enhance our digital engagement and advice strategy, optimising member engagement with digital servicing channels and increasing members under advice. - Deliver proactive strategies, initiatives, and campaigns to promote our financial advice services and member engagement. - Participate in departmental and business-wide projects and initiatives as required. - Oversee our relationship with Industry Fund Services (AFSL Licensee) and other primary financial advice service providers. - Assess and review policies, procedures, and processes, recommending improvements to streamline internal advice business operations. - Assist and support the Executive Manager - Advice Strategy in enhancing Hostplus’ advice value proposition to its members, championing innovative initiatives to secure a competitive edge. - Ensure the advice department adheres to a robust risk and compliance framework, promoting a strong Risk Culture through effective risk management. - Set personal and team KPIs related to productivity, operational efficiency, member retention, revenue, advice quality, and member satisfaction. - Develop and review business reporting for management and stakeholders, and manage annual team budgets and related expenditures. - Conduct regular performance reviews of individual team members in line with Hostplus’ performance management, development, and review framework. - Support the personal and career development aspirations of direct reports. - Positively demonstrate and champion Hostplus’ values. **About you** - Proven leadership capability in managing experienced leaders and a national distribution network - Understanding of retirement income policy and the evolving role of superannuation - Outstanding stakeholder management and experience in developing external business relationships with a proven ability to influence and negotiate to achieve beneficial outcomes - Strong technical leadership and knowledge of the regulatory framework for superannuation funds and financial advice - Strategic sense and ability to lead innovative change, with strong financial acumen - Approved/Relevant University degree / Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning / required FASEA education standards if listed on the ASIC Adviser Register prior to 1 Jan 2019 - Listed on the ASIC Financial Adviser Register - Relevant post graduate qualifications (Highly Desirable) - RG146 compliant **What can we offer you?** Our employees are passionate about what we do and are proud to be part of an organisation which helps everyday Australians achieve a brighter future.
