Southern Cross Care QLD are currently looking to fill the role of a full time Hospitality Services Coordinator. The majority of this role will be site based.
In this role, reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager you be assisting with the daily operations of the catering department in line with SCCQ standards and the Food Safety program. The role encompasses assisting with menu production, costing, recipes, staff training and requires hands on cooking in either normal rostered duties or in a relief chef position as required.

**What are the responsibilities?**
Accountabilities of this role will include:
- Support the HSM with a variety of day to day food services tasks including menu production
- Cook and present food to highest possible standards when required
- Ensure the delivery of quality meals to clients is maintained
- Stock control including purchasing, costing and recipe management
- Assist HoHS and HSM with compliance in line with the Food Safety Program
- Training and development (on-the-job, coaching, demonstration, role modelling) of staff
- Assist with recruitment and inductions if required and completing buddy shifts with new catering team leaders
- Conduct project work as required
- Provide relief and coverage to HSM when on leave or absent
**What you will bring to the role?**
- Certificate in Cookery (preferred but not essential)
- Hospital, aged care (or similar) cooking experience
- Commercial cooking knowledge and experience
- Experience in a hygiene-controlled environment
- Monitoring and handling of food and equipment experience
- Interpretation of WH&S and Quality standards knowledge and experience
- Food Safety Standards knowledge and experience (eg temperature, storing)
- Ability to coach and mentor staff in the catering team roles. Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience communicating and interacting with individuals and groups
- Ability to travel at often short notice
