We are looking for a passionate people leader with advanced analytic skills to lead the compensation function as
** Compensation Manager** to detect, prevent and recover financial losses as a result of compensation claims made by members. With your innovative approach and logical thinking, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to influence decisions across the business to manage rising cost growth and improve customer outcomes through reduce claims leakage.
With your professional career in the health insurance, law or finance, you’ll possess strong financial acumen, be a clear communicator with proficient skills in negotiation, conflict resolution and engagement.
**How will I help?**
Key accountabilities include:
- Establish a strong presence and relationships with the solicitor community and other payers to drive high levels of detection and recovery of compensable funds.
- Provide specialist input into the Compensation Data science program of work and be the key point of contact with the Claims Integrity Data science team to leverage data and process change to drive better detection of compensable claims, better recovery and improved experience for Bupa Customers.
- Lead the compensation & damages function to operate effectively and efficiently to meet annual operating plan (financial) targets.
- Put measures in place to track actual financial performance against Annual Operating Plan, reporting any significant variances, trends and opportunities.
- Embed quality assurance process to provide the business confidence in the team’s outputs, ensuring the team are adequately skilled to undertake their daily tasks, agreed processes are adhered to and financial reporting is accurately captured and reported.
- Develop education programs for both internal and external stakeholders to reduce the rate of claims leakage.

**What do I need?**
- A structured approach to deliver positive outcomes within tight deadlines while adhering to compliance controls and quality assurance process
- Demonstrated ability engaging with both internal and external parties (i.e., solicitors) to influence decisions and encourage referrals
- Enjoy collaborating, to successfully partner across functions in the development and implementation of strategies to deliver commercial outcomes
- Clear and engaging presentation skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, identifying key insights for senior leadership and stakeholders
- Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce or Law or similar tertiary qualifications.
