El1 Communications Lead

Are you an experienced EL1 Communications Manager who prides yourself on your first-rate communication, writing and engagement skills? Do you love strategy? Are you an inclusive and collaborative leader?_
Reporting to a Director, you will manage a small team and a program specific website.
This is initially a 12 month non-ongoing contract, with potential for extension or future permanency. Canberra location, with flexibility to work from home 2 or 3 days per week.
**Key duties in this diverse role will include**:
- Provide communication advice to the executive group responsible for the program
- Develop and implement communication strategies and plans along with associated communication and media products
- Liase with internal stakeholders to develop talking points and responses to media enquiries
- Liaise with and support members to appropriately communicate and market their certification; including providing approvals and rules around certification trade mark use
- Maintain the program's brand and communication guidance
- Create a range of content to promote the program including case studies, website material, social media, and news articles
- Identify communication and media risks and opportunities and assist the strategy and policy teams in decision making and priority settings
- Work as part of a collaborative EL team to maintain cohesion across the program
**Skills and Experience required**:
We are looking for someone with proven experience as a communication specialist - implementing communication strategies, undertaking communication and stakeholder engagement activities, developing content, problem solving and issues management, website authoring, social media and digital communication skills.
Any experience working in the regulatory space or within science communications will be beneficial but is not mandatory.
Website management and authoring experience, or any prior experience with market testing, likewise highly regarded, but not essential.
Please note that Australian citizenship, and either a baseline clearance or the ability to obtain one, is non-negotiable.
