What you will be doing
We have an exceptional opportunity for a highly capable Compliance Assurance Specialist to join our diverse and dynamic Compliance Assurance Team. You will report directly to the Senior Compliance Manager and be responsible for:
- Providing assurance that individuals and the organisation are meeting compliance-related responsibilities associated with designated functions/activities/programs.
- Undertaking or supporting incident investigations to identify and implement actions that address root cause.
- Responding to regulatory actions by external regulators, particularly the Environment Protection Authority.
- Developing and delivering communication and training initiatives to improve compliance performance.
- Contributing to the formulation of strategy and plans, systems, and processes, and key initiatives, and support the Corporation’s responses to external regulatory inquiries and investigations.
**We would love you to have**:
You are a self-motivated, highly organized professional with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to promote compliance culture. You will also ideally possess the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg. Risk management, auditing, natural resource management) and/or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to assess and improve our compliance performance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters effectively
- Value the NSW timber industry and understand the role of environmental compliance in ensuring continuing social licence
- Experience delivering operational training and hold qualifications in training and assessment is desirable but not essential.
