We design, manufacture and install modular buildings for education, affordable housing, mining, custodial and commercial sectors across all mainland Australian states. Our recreational vehicle work includes servicing as well as manufacture and distribute leading products. We work as One Fleetwood across our group of companies, including Building Solutions, Community Solutions and RV Solutions.

**About the role**
The role of Steel Detailer will be responsible for providing high quality steel design documentation in accordance with project briefs to support manufacturing, production and construction processes. We currently have 2 positions available for Steel Detailers.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Undertake comprehensive modelling and fabrication of shop drawings for speculative and live project works, in accordance with project briefs.
- Undertake primary steel and light gauge steel framing detailing of projects.
- Prepare clear and concise documentation including BIM modelling, fabrication shop drawings, cut lists, drawing lists and other supporting documentation.
- Conduct structural load assessments through available software suites.
- Produce engineering working documentation other supporting documentation as necessary.
- Interpret project contract obligations and design parameters.
- Communicate project related structural engineering requirements with consulting engineers.
- Undertake peer review of documentation.
- Comply with document control requirements and maintain good administration practices.
- Work collaboratively with department team members and other relevant stakeholders.

**The successful applicant will preferably have a trade background and will demonstrate**:

- 3+ years’ experience in a similar position.
- Structural / engineering qualification or similar.
- Knowledge of Australian detailing practices for structural steel and light gauge steel.
- Strong local industry experience (manufacturing, construction or building industries) and market understanding is desirable.
- Working knowledge of AS/NZS1170; AS/NZS2312; AS4100;AS4600, NASH Standards.
- Strong working knowledge of structural steel software programs (Advanced Steel preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Frame CAD, vertex BD or any other similar software.
- BIM modelling experience.
- Working knowledge and experience utilising Microsoft office.
- Strong verbal & written and communication skills.
- An ability to plan and priorities workloads to meet deadlines.
