- Our Waste and Resources Management team works across a range of private sector industries and government agencies to deliver innovative solutions, including circular economy and resource efficiency strategies through to waste and recycling infrastructure due diligence, design, and procurement.
- We have an excellent career opportunity within our Waste and Resources Management team for a person with a science or engineering background to join our team with flexibility to be based in Sydney or Brisbane. You will work closely with other team members to ensure high-quality outcomes, practical waste and resource recovery solutions and environmental, social and governance (ESG) advisory services to our internal and external clients.Key Responsibilities
**Job tasks and responsibilities**
You will have an entrepreneurial mindset and have the ability to do the following:
- Assist in the development of waste and resource management strategies encompassing sustainability and ESG initiatives, such as circular economy, carbon-reduction, and technology solutions including composting facilities, recycling technologies and energy from waste, for government and private sector clients;
- Preparation of waste management plans (WMPs) for various industrial and commercial sectors in compliance with local and state government requirements across Australia;
- Project manage small to medium projects to produce high quality advisory documentation (i.e., WMPs, strategies, feasibility studies and due diligence reports);
- Contributing to winning work by developing proposals, identifying and converting opportunities drawing on your client relationships;
- Developing, facilitating and enhancing relationships between our internal and external clients and SLR team members; and
- Administrative and financial management tasks including budget preparation and providing accurate and timely responses to requests as required by project demands and timelines.
**Skills and experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in science, natural resource management or engineering, specialising in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.
- 1 to 3 years' practical experience in fields such as waste and resource management. sustainability, circular economy, bioenergy with significant demonstrated skills in the areas of data research / analysis and report writing.
- Knowledge and interest of global sustainability standards and frameworks, such as UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global reporting Initiatives (GRI) and others is desirable.
- Excellent communication in all forms with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, in particular MS Excel.
