Permanent procurement specialist position with an infrastructure-based company.

**Your new company**

Join a well-regarded commercial organisation located in Canberra’s south. Your new company is one of Canberra’s largest employers who support essential services to those who live in and around the Canberra region. Your role will be embedded in the corporate procurement team, undertaking complex procurements and contract management.

**Your new role**

You will be able to draw upon your high level of understanding relating to the procurement framework to provide advice to key business areas, as well as leadership support to less experienced procurement officers. You will be engaging strongly with stakeholders to ensure and manage contract performance. In addition, you will be:

- Preparing tender and contract documents, negotiate with suppliers, evaluate tenders, and offers in conjunction with contract owners
- Closely assist Procurement Manager with day-to-day people management, guidance and mentoring for the procurement team
- Lead contract evaluations, assist in the development of appropriate sourcing strategies and identify risks
- Develop Contract Management Plans and monitoring supplier performance against KPIs
- Manage contract variations and contractor claims, including negotiations between the corporate stakeholders and suppliers

**What you'll need to succeed**

You will be a hands-on procurement specialist with an ability to work under mínimal supervision. In addition, you will need:

- Formal qualifications in procurement and/or sound experience in procurement and contracting
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of tendering and contract negotiation
- Demonstrated employee leadership skills and training
- Strong relationship building skills and attention to detail
