To be successful you will be able to develop a sound knowledge of the Laboratory Information System (AUSLAB) and the integrated electronic Medical Record system (ieMR). You will be accurate and disciplined and think outside the box working within a diverse working laboratory. Having great communication and personal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and with members of staff will be a requirment of this role.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse role. Duties include data entry, specimen handling, processing and non-technical laboratory duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and without supervision. Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and with members of staff.
- Demonstrated ability or ability to quickly learn to utilise Laboratory Information Systems and ieMR
- Demonstrate above average attendance and punctuality
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, procedures policies and regulations which impact on the position, the Department of Health Code of Conduct, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as work place health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

- It may be a requirement to work at Robina Campus periodically with discussion via the Hiring manager.
- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Assistance or the equivalent would be an advantage
- The successful applicant will be required to participate in the continuous shift roster and be available for all shifts over a 24hour, 7 day a week, 365 day/year roster including weekends and public holidays.
