**The Role: Asset Manager**
We’re looking for a capable leader with the right attitude to step into a pivotal Asset Management role supporting a critical Defence capability. In this key role, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of asset management services to maximise the value of a critical Defence asset. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive performance, maintain compliance, and support a strong safety and im
provement culture. This role is based in the Naval Base at Garden Island.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development of asset strategies to drive long-term value
- Plan and manage sustainment activities across performance, cost, and risk
- Coordinate supportability analysis, sparing, maintenance and obsolescence planning
- Oversee lifecycle asset planning - from acquisition to disposal
- Manage and enhance the accuracy of asset data and reporting
- Maintain ISO55000 accreditation and champion continuous improvement
- Lead, coach and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team
- Promote a strong safety culture and collaborative working environment
- Drive innovation and quality improvements that support customer satisfaction
**Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience**:
- Engineering, business or relevant tertiary qualifications (preferred)
- Strong relationship builder with great communication and leadership skills
- A team-first attitude and drive to influence positive change
- Experience in asset management, maintenance or operations in complex environments
- Working knowledge of ISO standards and asset lifecycle planning
- Confident with data, analysis and problem-solving
- Commercially aware, safety-focused, and customer-minded
