**You & your new role**
***As we continue to work with new technology and expand our digital capabilities, we’re making everyday tasks simpler and quicker for our customers & Colleagues - leaving them more time for more important things. If you’re passionate about log analytics, monitoring, dashboard/visualisation and continuously looking for ways to improve detection and diagnosis of technology incidents, you’re exactly the sort of person we’re looking for.
**This role is primarily responsible for**:
- Engaging with NAB Application Teams to research, analyse and review business, functional and technical requirements, design KPIs/metrics/entities/business transactions monitoring, create design documents, carry out service decomposition and then build and deliver health dashboards.
- Define, maintain, and enforce best practices for the Splunk searches/optimisation and AppDynamics business transactions and health rules.
- Support the GOC by analysing, identifying, and tuning the dashboards and providing data and insights during incidents and problem investigations.
- Develop and maintain support documentation for the dashboards delivered to GOC.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of service monitoring and undertake continuous learning and training.
- Working closely with the Product Owner to maximize value and to ensure that we deliver on the monitoring strategy.
**What you will bring**:
- A solid understanding of Splunk data, Splunk reporting, Splunk knowledge objects, Splunk searching & optimization
- Good knowledge in developing and designing of new and existing dashboard using Splunk and AppDynamics
- Knowledge on constructing Splunk friendly regex expressions and optimizing Splunk search queries with optimal performance.
- An understanding of the importance of adhering to standards and following documented policies procedures for service monitoring design and visualisation.
- Strong experience in Service health KPIs and Metrics, Log analytics, APM
- Experience in Synthetic monitoring using APM tools or Selenium
- Sound knowledge of delivery methodologies and associated tools (JIRA/Rally), with working experience in Agile delivery.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to present technical details to the stakeholders in technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin or Splunk Enterprise Certified Developer or equivalent experience.
