Perth Eastern Suburbs, Australia Australia Red Cross Full time

Full-time hours
- Maximum term until 30th November 2025
- Based in East Perth

About Us
Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement. We support and empower people and communities in times of vulnerability. We act for humanity.
About the role
A Case Manager performs a key role in the planning and coordination of delivery of essential services to clients of our Humanitarian Migration Support Program teams, bringing their professional social and community services practice interests to support humanitarian migrants to successfully establish their lives in Australia.
As a Case Manager, you will have a substantial caseload of recently arrived refugees who are living within your region. While a case can comprise an individual, most cases comprise a family aligned group. Caseloads vary according to the complexity of needs and supports required to attain successful settlement outcomes. You will be required as part of your day-to-day travel to attend meetings, undertake client home visits or transport clients to meetings with other services.
Red Cross vehicles are provided for this travel. Sometimes you may be asked to travel to another location within Australia in support of clients or to undertake relevant Red Cross agency business for multiple days.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in providing high quality case management support.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments and developing effective case plans and safety planning.
- Proven ability to identify service gaps and manage complex cases within a context of competing priorities
- Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced grief, loss, torture, and trauma and who experience ongoing safety risks
- A sound understanding of the social and political issues and needs impacting migrants in transition (including people seeking asylum, trafficked people and people who have been forced into marriage).
- Application of knowledge, skills and experience in a variety of client practice approaches and frameworks
- Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to interagency collaboration and ability to lead collaboration, advocate and network with internal and external stakeholders (who can include statutory and law enforcement agencies)
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
- A current Working with Children's Check and Australian Drivers Licence is essential
- Bachelor Of Social Work or equivalent alternative qualification is preferable, however a Diploma in Community Services (Case Managment) will be considered with relevant experience
