Kinship placements in out-of-home care serve as the primary and preferred option when a young person cannot reside with their parents. This field is experiencing rapid growth, making it an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

**Your role**:

- A rounded approach engaging schools, families and carers in support and case management.
- Have a passion for working with children and young people impacted by trauma who reside in out of home care.
- Have creative thinking and problem-solving skills to engage those who might be resistant to supports.
- Committed to achieving positive outcomes for carers, young people and their families.
- Work collaboratively with their team and team leader.
- Continuously liaise with DFFH Child Protection.

**The skills we want you to use day to day**:

- The agility and skill to engage with complex individuals.
- Using creative thinking and skill to engage carers, families and children.
- A good knowledge of and a trauma informed approach.
- Strong administrative skills and ability to meet timelines.
- Sophisticated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care and a passion for learning.
- Strong engagement, communication, advocacy and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong written communication.
- Strong networking and stakeholder engagement to promote the Best Interests of children.
- Demonstrated experience in case management.

**What you need to know**:

- A salary at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $97,377 plus super.
- Full time hours. Fixed term to 31st March 2026.
- Flexible through the increments up to 5.3 (dependent upon experience).
- Based at our fantastically located office in Box Hill.
- Office based with some flex to work from home but responsive to change.
