The company is 30 years old, employs approximately 150 staff, and operates out of its own premises in all States of Australia.
**Job** **Summary***
As a key member of the Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the timely delivery of all internal and external financial reporting requirements, providing effective leadership, direction, and management of the finance and related administration functions. This role is also responsible for the provision of financial performance metrics and strategies to support and drive the Company’s financial performance
You will be working closely with our Executive General Managers and Finance Manager to ensure the best financial decision are made. Along with building a high performing team, the position will have core accountability to develop and improve the finance and accounting methods, practices and procedures, compliance, including the development of accurate budgets (and analysing operational results), forecasts and cash flows, in collaboration with key stakeholders. The key to success within this position will be the ability to lead strategically, deliver operationally and remain agile in a rapidly growing business.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Providing effective management of the finance function
- Providing strategic recommendations to the Managing Director and members of the executive management team
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
- Management of the preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, FBT and related tax calculations in each market
- Adopting efficient operational processes to ensure sound practices, financial control, risk management and regulatory compliance
- Supporting the Directors and senior management team with accurate and timely financial reporting and strategic advice to enable informed commercial and business decisions
- Strategic Planning: Provide input into the Company’s Strategic plan and direction and oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the plan.
- Governance and controls Ensure the efficiency of the Company’s assets and resources including maintaining and championing policies and processes that facilitate the achievement of business goals and objectives whilst maintaining appropriate controls
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparation of monthly management and board reporting, including analysis and commentaries which focus on risks and opportunities. Preparation of Board reports on current investments & investment risks & future opportunities.
- Annual Budgeting and Monthly Forecasting: Drive the annual budget setting process and monthly forecasting at an executive and strategic business unit level.
- Cash-flow Management: Responsible for managing, analysing and reporting on cash-flows
- Investment Strategy: Develop strategies to optimise the Company’s existing investments portfolio as well as identifying and analysing opportunities to diversify Company revenue streams.
- Insights and Analysis: Partner with all departments to gain mutual understanding of key financial drivers and provide analysis and insights to support enhanced performance outcomes
- Strategic Business Unit Partnering: Management and preparation of business unit performance including working closely with the business unit executive and project management offices to understand variances.
- Accounts and Payroll: Oversight and responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Finance Systems: Leverage finance technology to continually improve efficiency and accuracy of all finance processes.
- Compliance and Reporting: Preparation of all reporting requirements including cash-flow, P&L updates, and other ad hoc requests.
- Statutory requirements for the related property company.
- Management of the staff share plan.
**About you**:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment specifically in cost accounting, activity-based accounting, and inventory accounting
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance/Business Management along with Membership of CA or CPA
- A continuous improvement mindset, with demonstrated experience in a similar role where you’ve simultaneously been hands on with strong attention to detail and a proven strategic thinker.

- Strong experience and understanding of accounting systems and business intelligence tools
