Our client is looking for an Environmental Services officer to join the Health Environment and Waste Branch

**Your new company**
Your new client is a public sector authority based on the south side of Brisbane. They are looking to engage an Environmental Services officer to join the Health Environment and Waste Branch. This branch contributes to delivering a greener city through recycling, environmental health, immunisation, conservation, and environmental management services.

**Your new role**
In your new role, you will deliver environmental extensions, education, services, and support the delivery of environmental grants and environmental activities. This will allow you to develop public awareness and support conservation and the natural environment. As well as:

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Support the annual program of marketing, events and education activities for the Natural Environment and Sustainability program
- Respond to any customer service requests relating to environmental services, environmental management, and education
- Support the Environmental Services Coordinator to develop and implement efficient customer service channels and processes that ensure appropriate balance between the quality of customer experience and effective utilisation of Council resources (positions, budget, etc.).

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will need knowledge of environmental services, ecosystem services and best practice environmental management principles. You will also:

- Knowledge of relevant State and Federal environmental legislation
- Ability to research, analyse and report issues professionally
- Effective communication skills, especially with the ability to manage customer expectations and explain be able to explain reports to technical and non-technical people
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads in relation to risk and priority level

**What you'll get in return**
Our client is offering this role at a few levels, so open from Grad roles to over 5 years experience. Client is looking at around $36-$48 per hour based on experience. Initial contract is until EOFY, but may extend based on performance/team fit.
