We're looking for someone to join our ICT Contracts and Procurement team for a Federal Governent departmen based in Canberra. This role focuses on buying and managing software licenses. Key responsibilities include:

- Keeping track of software licenses to match what's owned with what's actually used.
- Conducting audits and adjustments for major software suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with license rules while minimizing costs.
- Managing contracts for new software purchases and renewals, including cloud services.
- Finding opportunities to save costs through efficient license use.
- Assisting with overall software budget management.
- Staying updated on new software and changes in license terms.

While the main focus is software management, you may also assist with purchasing other IT equipment and services as needed.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Government Financial Framework, including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Proven experience managing complex procurement's in government, from approvals to contract closure.
- Expertise in providing specialist procurement and contract management advice.
- Ability to manage complex relationships and drive supplier performance.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with a collaborative approach across business and IT areas.
- Previous experience with government procurement processes."
This is a 12 month opportunity with the potential for extension.
