About the opportunity

Clare Moore Building is a 50 bed Acute Inpatient Unit, based at Werribee Mercy Hospital. We cater for a range of consumers in the inpatient unit. Clare Moore Building has 3 Recovery Care Areas (RCA) and 1 Intensive Care Area (ICA). The unit is catered to the age group of 18 - 64 year old consumers.

This specialised role aims to empower consumers to build resilience and take an active role in their personal recovery.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the consumer peer support role may include psychosocial support, safety planning, recovery/wellness planning, individual peer support, and advocacy.- Contributes effectively to clinical review processes, team activities and effectively works within a multidisciplinary team.- Assists CMB consumers to be aware of their rights and responsibilities.- Contributes effectively to the ongoing use of recovery orientated practice.- Assists relevant staff to provide information to consumers receiving service.- Be active collaborators in developing, reviewing and providing information resources for consumers and their families and carers.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- A lived experience of mental ill-health and treatment within a mental health service.- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team- Completion of or enrolled to complete Intentional Peer Support Training- Awareness of, and commitment to, your wellbeing and self-care as it relates to your work- A current driver’s licence.- National Police Check, Working with Children Check, Evidence of right to work within Australia

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
