As the AFP’s primary health and wellbeing support service, SHIELD embeds health services in the day-to-day operations of all AFP Commands, giving employees access to a dedicated team of practitioners. Improving the many elements of the health and wellbeing experience for AFP employees has significant benefits for the individual but is also critical to our operational capability, flexibility, and capacity.

What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Education Officer, SHIELD.

The SHIELD Health Education Officer (HEO) plays a crucial role in promoting health education and creating awareness among individuals, teams and the greater AFP.

The HEO provides support in the planning, design and evaluation of SHIELD health education programs. The SHIELD Education Officer is also responsible for ongoing monitoring and tracking of the progress to ensure the effectiveness and impact of the training.

The HEO works closely with technical leaders to support the development of training packages, manuals and education materials and provide support to hub leaders to progress and implement education programs effectively and efficiently. The HEO will also collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure learning outcomes and organisational objectives are relevant, effective, sustainable and achievable.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

This is a Canberra based position, however, remote work arrangements from other geographic locations within Australia will be considered. The successful applicant must be available to travel to Canberra (and other AFP locations) as operationally required.

What will you do?

**Requirements of this role consist of, but are not limited to**:
Managing the research, planning, delivery and coordination of the Health Education Framework and other SHIELD projects in accordance with the agreed requirements, timeframe and budget.
Planning and ensuring ongoing education activities align with contemporary health requirements and SHIELD service delivery objectives.
Working with SHIELD executive and technical leads to develop the SHIELD Education Program and training initiatives.
Providing advice to stakeholders regarding health education initiatives and activities.
Designing of training packages, manuals and education materials tailored to various audiences using innovative solutions and available tools.
Working with broader AFP stakeholders to advocate and integrate developed training packages to support organisational outcomes (e.g. integrating new SHIELD training packages into recruitment)
Conduct training development, delivery and assessment in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards for Reg
