THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a lithium miner based in the Goldfields is searching for an experienced HSE Superintendent to join their team.

THE ROLE

Our client is currently seeking a HSE Superintendent.

It will be a fast-paced role where you will be a key member whilst working alongside a dynamic and high performing team, reporting to the Health Safety and Environment Manager

The role is offered on a roster arrangement, fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) from Perth on 8:6 roster.

KEY RESPONSILIBILITIES
- Implement site based OH&S systems and services
- Manage a team of people to achieve H&S Objectives
- Implement corporate OH&S policies and procedures on site
- Drive the company’s Safety Management System
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team to ensure the requirements of the HSE management plan including systems and procedures, are followed
- Coordinate the HSE teams to deliver timely and effective HSE support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all departments
- Previous experience in building and maintaining working relationships with contractors/business partners and internal and external stakeholders
- Provide site direction and support for the HSE related programs and activities, including campaigns, reviews, audits, inspections, and general engagement
- Support the implementation of proactive Risk Management processes, tools and systems
- Prepare and present the reports to the Senior Leadership team in order to communicate performance and provide insight on trends
- Support and review event investigations reports, i.e. ICAM
- Undertake internal audits inclusive of Contractors audits
- Review and make recommendations for improved procedures and systems of work or equipment
- Monitoring legislative requirements

ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary level HSE or related discipline qualification;
- Experience in leading, coaching and managing a Health & Safety team in an operational environment;
- Experience in maintaining and improving a Safety Management System;
- Robust Reporting and Risk Management; with strong knowledge of Safety legislation;
- Lead Auditor in OHS / Environmental or Quality Management Systems; ICAM or similar investigation training;
- Extensive risk management experience; and
- Ability to liaise with workers’ compensation insurers and other interested parties to oversee rehabilitation of workers, in line with injury management requirements.
