About the Role
As an Assistant Manager in the Premium Broker - SME Team, you’ll play a key role in helping to acquire, grow and retain a quality portfolio of customers. Your role is to partner with the Relationship Manager to build trusted relationships with the passionate owners of small and medium sized enterprises. You’ll help drive growth through acquisition, increasing share of wallet and referrals. And you’ll have great insights and data to help you do this, thanks to investment in new systems and technologies.
This role leads to many career pathways within commercial banking and across the rest of ANZ. Whichever pathway is right for you, there are inspiring leaders and tailored learning opportunities to give you the skills and accreditation you need to go after it.

What will your day look like?
As an Assistant Manager, you will also have the opportunity to:
Proactively developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of our customer’s business and financial needs
Providing appropriate solutions towards account maintenance and customer needs
Maintaining a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
Maintaining control of workflows across all compliance and customer fulfilment process
Collaborating with product partners and other stakeholders to fulfill customer needs
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Prior experience in a commercial banking frontline role and commercial lending
Ability to help manage strong customer relationships by handling service queries and solving minor issues
Strong communication skills to assist customers effectively
Attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts.
Ability to assess a customer's ability to fulfill their credit obligations, considering both qualitative and quantitative factors
Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of customer documentation, banking transactions, and internal communications
Familiarity with risk management concepts, particularly in credit and market risk
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements
