**This role is being offered as a 12-month fixed term contract.**
**The role**
The Consultant Claims plays a pivotal role in NAB’s workers compensation team providing collaborative, strategic and best practice claims management services in accordance with the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act), and in line with NAB’s Self-Insurance licence obligations to NAB employees who are injured at work.
**Your opportunity**
- Work collaboratively with the broader Health, Safety and Wellbeing team to minimise the human and financial impact of workplace injuries/illness.
- End to end management of a portfolio of complex claims in accordance with legislative and self-insurance requirements including:
- Conduct regular claim reviews with business
- Provide clear and strategic instructions to lawyers in consultation with Manager, Workers’ Compensation
- Provide a high level of care and customer service to colleagues, the business and other relevant stakeholders
- Provide input in to claims management system improvement initiatives
- Participate in industry forums to ensure continuous improvement and best practice.
**What you will bring**
You are a learning focussed and highly motivated individual who thrives on working in a fast paced, challenging and complex environment. Additionally, to be successful in this role, you must have:
- Minimum 2 years full cycle experience in workers compensation claims management in the Comcare scheme.
- Technical knowledge of the SRC Act, claims management frameworks, systems and processes
- Experience in a self-insurance environment is desired
- Have excellent consulting and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate with influence at all levels of the organisation (both verbally and in writing)
- Be able to think laterally and strategically with high level of assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate empathy, resilience and sound judgement in claims management
- Strong team player who is willing to go above and beyond to support the team in all aspects of the work
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are desired
