**The Opportunity**
- As Strategy and Growth Lead, you will be pivotal in driving the strategic direction and leadership of the Australian arm of the Transport & Infrastructure business. Collaborating closely with senior leadership and teams, this role will spearhead performance improvement, business optimization initiatives, and growth opportunities.
- You will play a key role in shaping and communicating the strategic vision of T&I, ensuring alignment and clarity across the business unit, as well as with Group and Board stakeholders.
- As a key part of the Strategy and Growth team, this role will provide active leadership drive and input as required to activities spanning the team's direct functions (i.e., strategy and tactical planning, strategic projects, market analysis, marketing and communications, pipeline management, mergers, acquisitions and divestments), and indirect functions (i.e., business development, strategic tendering and business transitions/integrations) to optimise business outcomes and performance.
- You will drive and champion effective change management across improvement projects and initiatives, implementing frameworks and tools in line with The Downer Standard, to drive effective and streamlined process.
- You will support the translation and prioritisation of strategy and performance needs into strategic and improvement initiatives and programs of work and manage the design and development of these programs. As part of this remit, you will support business assessment and business case development to enable informed investment decision-making.You will work closely with trans-Tasman leadership and clients to support the development of strategic opportunities through early positioning and supporting high-level capture development. This may include governance support to strategic tenders, tender team coaching and proposal challenge and review.
- **Important Skills**
- Wide business experience across various aspects of the delivery life cycle with an understanding of the risks and opportunities throughout the life cycle to enable informed assessment, challenge and prioritisation of potential improvement opportunities.
- Experience in defining and implementing projects and change initiatives, working in a structured way which effectively identifies and manages impacts.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and positively with wide range of internal and external customers and stakeholders, with ability to influence and matrix manage at all levels of the organisation.
- Action orientation and high initiative. Motivated by ‘getting things done’ through personal effort. Takes unpopular stands if necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Diligence and an eye for detail alongside keeping sight of the big picture.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a ‘best for organisation’ attitude - highly organised and structured but with ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

**Desirable**:

- Degree level qualification preferably in an Engineering discipline or English/Communications.
