As PR & Communications Manager - Asia Pacific (APAC) you’ll be responsible for maximising the awareness and potential of the Hurtigruten family of brands by cultivating strong relationships with existing partners, in addition to identifying new partner prospects across the broad media landscape. You will be required to be the conduit, strategist and market specialist on PR and deliver our PR and communications strategy locally while being a member of the Global PR chapter bringing your local market expertise into a global framework.

The APAC head office is in Melbourne and this role is best placed in Melbourne or within an agreed territory.

We are looking for a PR & Communications Manager that would like to join our journey.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

- Significantly contribute to positioning our two business units, Hurtigruten and HX Hurtigruten Expeditions brands in the APAC market through planning and executing proactive, targeted B2C and B2B media initiatives in line with business, commercial and communications strategies.
- APAC execution of globally initiated B2C and B2B media initiatives as well as globally initiated omnichannel (paid, earned, owned) communications initiatives.
- Ensure continuous high quality response service to APAC media outlets as well as supporting in handling global media inquiries.
- Plan and execute APAC press trips (individual and smaller groups) for journalists.
- APAC support of global (group) press trips for journalists.
- Plan and coordinate APAC-based communication projects and events.
- Hold the role as Project Manager and/or represent Communication and Public Affairs in selected APAC and global communication and interdisciplinary projects/events.
- Produce press releases, and support copywriting on-brand communications pieces for B2B and B2C.
- Review content created by third party partnerships (B2B or media) for accuracy whilst ensuring timely go-to-market execution.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate competitor initiatives with a view of developing strategies around these initiatives.
- Hold the responsibility for day-to-day management and coordination of any APAC-allocated external PR agencies.
- Produce the Monthly PR report for Global
- Be an integral part in Hurtigruten’s APAC crisis management and communications organisation.
- Daily logging into the Global PR communications platform as part of our Follow-the-Sun coverage strategy. This includes shared weekend coverage every quarter.
- Proactively build and maintain APAC network of journalists.
- Support Hurtigruten’s APAC’s commercial organisation and other local Hurtigruten stakeholders with communications expertise.
- Day-to-day management of APAC end of Communication and Public Affair team’s systems and platforms to generate monthly reports with insightful commentary and suggestions to further develop the brand.
- Other communication tasks within the area of responsibility of Hurtigruten’s global Communication and Public Affairs team

- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Overnight and some overseas travel may be required.

**Academic and Professional Qualifications**:

- First rate oral and written English skills.
- Higher relevant education at minimum Bachelor level, preferably with Communications / Media / Journalism in core.
- Strong business understanding and commercial get-to-market orientation.
- Experience from strategic PR operations with proven results, preferably showing an understanding of global and local market integration.
- Minimum five years of experience as a press duty officer.
- Network of APAC journalists and influencers, preferably within the travel and / or cruise segment.

**Additional Knowledge**:

- Experience with PR tracking systems and platforms.
- Experience in generating, evaluating and presenting PR results from various tracking sources.
