We are currently seeking staff to join the Brimbank Leisure Centre team as Attendant Support Officers on a casual basis.
- The Attendant Support Initiative program supports community members to access all Brimbank Leisure Centre facilities.
- The program provides attendant care support and is run across Sunshine Leisure Centre and Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre.
- With improved access to our facilities, the Attendant Support Officer will help community members to improve their health and fitness, participation, connection with the community and overall health and wellbeing.
- Personalised support and assistance is provided when entering the centre, accessing aquatics area (all pools), gymnasium, facility equipment and support for the duration of the desired recreation activity. The position assists all staff and participants ensuring that the service delivery and safety of the centre’s program is of the highest quality.

**The role**
- Reporting to the Community Programs and Liaison Officer, the role of Attendant Support Officer involves:

- Supporting people with a disability, people with low levels of English and older people to access Council’s Leisure Centres. This includes swimming pools and gyms.
- Assisting delivery of the ASI program which includes, direct participant support and administration.
- Relationship building with program’s participants to support their physical activity pursuits and creating social connection opportunities.
- Communicating and collaborating with centre staff to improve access for program participants.

**About you**
- To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Local government experience is desirable
- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
- Desire to work with people that experience barriers towards participating in physical activity
- Experience working with people with a disability
- Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholder with a focus on the benefit of the participant
