This **three year Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship** is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking for career growth and to gain invaluable experience working within the parks of the **Yarra Ranges Shire Council**

**About the role**

As a member of the Parks and Gardens team, the Apprentice will be required to undertake maintenance in horticulture such as, but not limited to:

- Mowing
- Weeding
- Planting
- Litter removal
- Weed Spraying
- Mulching
- Pruning
- Watering
- Irrigation repairs
- Record daily activities in a work journal.
- Collaborate with other members of the Parks and Gardens team as required
- Undertake the required schooling to a satisfactory level to complete the four year apprenticeship.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies in the workplace.

**About you**
- Physically fit and self-motivated
- Passion for working outdoors with interest in variety of work sites, horticultural jobs and projects
- Strong team mentality with an attitude of helping others
- Can-do attitude
- Ability to plan and prioritise work
- Consistently reliable and punctual
- Commitment and dedication to TAFE studies
- Machinery operating skills are an added advantage, though not required
- Driver's licence preferred
