The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.

**What you’ll be doing**:
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centered care, tailored to everyone’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey.

The Team Leader for Forensic Drug & Alcohol Team provides a key role in the front-line operational management and continued development of the NBMLHD Forensic Drug & Alcohol Team. This role ensures the effective implementation of the Magistrates Referral into Treatment (M.E.R.I.T) and Drug Court programs, driving the team towards excellence in service delivery.

The successful incumbent will oversee daily operations, supporting staff through clinical supervision and fostering referral pathways with other service providers. The role also involves managing a patient caseload, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care, and as a cost centre manager oversee the financial management and activity reporting of designated cost centres.

Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.

**Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications and professional registration/membership as follows: (a) Occupational Therapy minimum bachelor’s degree and general registration with AHPRA; or (b) Social Work - minimum bachelor's degree and eligibility for membership of AASW; or (c) Senior Psychologist - a four-year degree in psychology and general registration with AHPRA; or (d) Clinical/Forensic Psychologist - Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology, full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical or forensic psychologist (as appropriate to postgraduate qualification); or (e) Counsellor: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree in counselling and evidence of listing on ARCAP as either PACFA (clinical registrant) or ACA (minimum level 3).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability within a clinical setting.
