Hobsons Bay City Council are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join the Hobsons Bay City Council’s Parks department in the role of Team Leader Sports, Irrigation & Assets.

The Team Leader Sports, Irrigation and Assets is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple maintenance teams responsible for our sporting grounds, irrigation systems, playgrounds and other open space assets across the municipality. The role also works closely with other council departments to assist in the delivery of capital projects and to ensure councils assets meet the needs of the community.

**What you’ll be working on**
- Overseeing the routine maintenance programs for areas of responsibility.
- Leading the day to day operations of the team, leading team meetings, managing staff leave and other people management functions.
- Attending hold points for Capital Works projects to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with specifications.
- Managing the delivery of some open space Capital Works projects, including in Open Space Assets and Irrigation.
- Responding to internal and external enquiries.

**What you need to succeed**
- Qualifications in Turf Management, Irrigation and/or extensive on the job experience.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License.
- High level administrative, organisational, financial and time management skills.
- Ability to gain cooperation and assistance from other employees and contractors to allow for the maintenance of sports grounds and irrigation assets with the least disruption to the public.
- The ability to implement OHS management systems to ensure that risks arising from operations are managed effectively.
